About the Instructor

Anita Lamoureux

Ms. Lamoureux comes to Barlow High with 15 years of Career Technical Education (CTE) teaching experience.  Born into a family of skilled trades professionals, she recognized early on the benefits of CTE. She worked in industry -- starting as a secretary during her college years, and worked her way up to Director of Human Resources.  Ms. Lamoureux received her BA in Business/Human Resources from San Francisco State University while working full time and becoming a mother.

She found a calling to education 15 years ago and was blessed to be hired by Dartmouth High School in Dartmouth, MA, where she also successfully introduced the CTSO DECA to the District.  She and her family moved to Florida in 2009 and she continued her CTE passion teaching business, design and technology. While becoming a single mother of two incredible young men and teaching at Mariner High School in Cape Coral, FL, she obtained her Masters in CTE and her Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.  Ms. Lamoureux was an active participant for CTE programs and leadership in both her home school and the Lee County School District.

Once her youngest graduated high school, Ms. Lamoureux made a bold move to Oregon.  She feels blessed to be part of the incredible Sam Barlow High School team and continues to share her CTE passion at the school and District level.  She is excited to bring DECA back to Barlow and looks forward to watching her students’ growth inside and outside the classroom. She is proud of all her students’ efforts, particularly of those that manage the school store, The Den.

On a personal note, you can find her hiking/biking, cooking great food, watching great movies, gathering with great company, and enjoying her new dog Sassenach.  She loves the beauty of her new PNW surroundings! But mostly?  She revels in watching her sons’ successes as they pursue their dreams.

Go Bruins!
