Construction Program Overview

Sam Barlow High School's Construction Program provides students with a variety of skills and knowledge related to woodworking and construction. Students will begin by learning the basic use of construction tools in a shop setting. Students will learn joinery techniques in furniture and cabinet making. The construction courses focus on the fundamentals of residential construction with an emphasis on carpentry. The knowledge and skills learned expose students to the various construction trades. Guest speakers and field trips are part of the curriculum, including a capstone construction tool shed project. This program provides a valuable foundation for future careers in the woodworking and construction trades.

Josh Hardy has worked in the construction industry for over 15 years and has experience in residential remodeling and custom home building.  He enjoys working with his hands and seeing a project come together.  In his down time you can find him hiking in the PNW and spending time with family and friends.
