General Information

Language Arts Department Philosophy:

The keys to academic success include reading and writing fluently, problem-solving, analyzing information, and communicating clearly. All Sam Barlow High School students must complete four credits of English to graduate, and we offer many courses to meet the needs of our population, including courses in which students can earn college credit.

In addition to required English classes, we offer a variety of elective classes each semester. Students can choose classes as an outlet for their creative side or the first steps toward a career in journalism, communication, or performing arts.
